Automob Account Deletion

You can ask us to delete your Automob account and the personal data attached to it. This page explains who can ask, how, and what happens, in line with international data-protection standards and the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

If you are a customer, you can ask us to delete your account, your vehicles, and your personal data. A workshop owner or member of staff can ask us to delete their own account, and where a workshop account is closing, an authorised owner can ask us to delete the workshop's data. Records a workshop holds as controller, such as a customer's service history, are deleted on the workshop's instructions and subject to the law.

To make a request, write from the email or phone number on your account to info@jopex.co.tz with "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line. We may ask you to confirm your identity first. Once verified, we deactivate and remove your profile, sign-in details, and personal vehicles, remove your device's notification token so that notifications stop, end your active sessions, and clear any app-lock PIN or biometric settings on that installation; the personal data we control is then deleted or irreversibly anonymised. Where a workshop holds records about you as controller, the decision to delete them rests with the workshop and the law, and we will notify it and act on its instructions.

We aim to complete a verified deletion within thirty days unless the law allows or requires longer, and data in backups is removed as those backups are overwritten. We may keep a limited amount of data afterwards where the law allows or requires, such as invoice and transaction records for tax and audit, security logs, and anonymised information. Deletion is permanent; to use Automob again you would create a new account, and earlier data would not be restored except for records a workshop still holds. Questions can be sent to info@jopex.co.tz.
